AHMS Experience

AHMS has extensive experience in undertaking a wide range of archaeological and heritage studies for the public and private sectors. Our experience ranges from large critical developments and Major Projects to detailed site-specific studies for developments with sensitive heritage issues and heritage impact assessments to support a range of development and re-zoning approvals.

National Indigenous Development Centre, Redfern, NSW: Aboriginal and historical archaeological assessment, management planning, test excavation and salvage excavation for a Part 3A Major Project on behalf of the Australian Government – Indigenous Land Corporation (2007).

Hume Highway Accelerated Duplication – Sturt Highway to Little Billabong, NSW: Historical heritage assessment for Part 3A Major Project Environmental Assessment on behalf of Manidis Roberts / Sinclair Knight Merz joint venture (2006-2008).

Orange-Bloomfield Hospital, Orange, NSW: Aboriginal heritage impact assessment of proposed Part 3A Major Project re-development for NSW Government Architects Office (2006).

Queensland Hunter Gas Pipeline, Newcastle to the Queensland border: Aboriginal and historical Heritage assessment, a Part 3A critical 600km linear infrastructure project on behalf of Manidis Roberts (2008).

McLears Hill, Dromana, VIC: Aboriginal archaeological test excavation, development of a Cultural Heritage Management Plan on behalf of Aspen Villages Limited (2008).

The projects described above have provided us with a thorough understanding of the requirements for efficient archaeological investigation and effective management of cultural heritage during development planning and construction. They also demonstrate our capacity to successfully manage large archaeological programmes.
